Welcome to the DooLittle Free Library!

Our blue Little Free Library and its colorful little sibling can be found opposite the Doolittle Elementary School on Cornwall Avenue in Cheshire.
We call it the “DooLittle Free Library” becauseā¦
- It’s a pun!
- It’s near the Doolittle School.
- A long time ago the Doolittle Farm covered our neighborhood
How does our library work?

This is a sharing library, chartered by the Little Free Library organization. You can read more about them at this link.
Your stewards, Alison and Matt, maintain the library for our neighborhood. They set up the box, painted, landscaped, and do their best to keep the library clean and attractive.
What’s in the DooLittle Free Library is up to all of us. There are no library cards, signing in or signing out, no record of books taken or returned. (And just so you know, we are big supporters of larger public libraries including our own Cheshire Public Library.)
How to take a book Taking a book is easy, and it just takes two steps:
- Look through the books.
- Take the one you like.
You can take more than one book, but please be mindful of other folks and leave them some choices!
How to return a book You can either bring your book back when you’re finished, or bring another book you’ve enjoyed to share. You don’t have to match them up “one to one,” or share a book at the same time you’re taking one.
We will occasionally “curate” the collection if a book is not a good fit for the library or if the box is getting too full. We either save it to put back later or donate it responsibly. We never re-sell books!
Enjoy the library!
And if you have anything you’d like us to know, just leave a note in the box.
